Former Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
