Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the team following the fallout from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the team's response was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
The midfielder also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the initial controversy. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and starting to win games.”
