Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

American entertainer Finn, who featured in beloved programs including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per media reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Television Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, including:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.

Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
