The Streaming Platform to Bring a Popular Game TV Series from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed title that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for celebrating chaos and mayhem with similar glee, all while telling gripping, socially charged tales. No wonder then that the network’s new order for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two producers whose projects have represented all of those things.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' style by introducing a different location and cast of characters in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we do not know what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the showrunner.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX family constantly supports me with their ongoing confidence and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style series. Every instalment is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the core of humanity through this complex and turbulent viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to work with Rob and present our mutual bold, ambitious approach to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
